LDRU is a Non-Government, and Non-Political organization responding to human suffering and the adverse impact it causes. We work to contribute to community development in Uganda through rights-based empowerment for sustainable development. We serve all people irrespective of gender, race, religion, ethnicity, or political conviction.

Compassionate for all of humanity, LDRU is dedicated to addressing the causes and effects of human suffering and poverty, linking local action and responses to national and international advocacy.
Individuals and Communities in Uganda are able to meet their basic needs, achieve their full potential and claim their full rights in order to alleviate poverty

LDRU is operating in Uganda and has programs in areas of sustainable livelihoods, community empowerment, education for the poor, empowering girl child education to determine their future, building schools, fighting malaria, and HIV and AIDS.

GIRL CHILD EDUCATION
The United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI) reported that more than 700,000 girls in Uganda between the ages of six to 12 have never attended school.
